Thehunter: Call of the Wild – Features of not national hunting

Hunting is one of the most ancient classes of man (hussars, not to be confused with the profession!), but today, hunting has turned from the need to entertain. Yes, there are still people who get animals for food, but still most people get food in the store. And entertainment? Not everyone is able to press the trigger or release the bowstring and kill a living creature for the sake of entertainment. But what if there is a desire to feel like a persecutor/earner, and common sense is against this? The answer is to “go” to the store, but not to the five -hand, but to the digital store and buy the hunting simulator TheHunter: Call of the Wild.

Thehunter: Call of the Wild is a typical representative of the simulator genre: large and open locations, the lack of a clear plot;Instead, such games offer to have fun or in the company of friends/random players. In fact, this is a rehearsal gameplay, which is more created for relaxation/contemplation, rather than for the complex execution of “solo on the keyboard”. Meanwhile, the gameplay here can be interesting and this is achieved in several ways:

Realistic creatures and where they live

At the start (February 2017) the game was presented by a dozen animals and two locations, but at the time of publication of the review (two and a half years after the release), the number of animals and places for hunting for them increased. Each location is represented by a unique flora and no less unique fauna.

Hirschfelden
The reserve is located in the central part of Europe. Entering the basic game. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful cards in the game. Autumn deciduous forest, wind, dynamic change of weather and time of day generate breathtaking photorealistic desktop wallpapers. The card will be difficult for a beginner, just because of the large forests, although the fields will also be found. There is a shooting range in the reserve to test the existing arsenal (which is below and in more detail) or compete with friends in accuracy at different distances.
Inhabitant living creatures: Kazarka, Fox, Kosul, Lan, Boar, noble deer, bison. This reserve has a unique fauna, represented by a barracks, a lanye, roe deer and a bolt, so you will not have to get bored here.

Medved Taiga
The reserve is located in Siberia (Russia). Available through the purchase of DLC. Native open spaces … or rather an impassable snow -covered forest, which is not very happy to accept you in its cold arms. This is the first snow card and snow here is not only underfoot, it will pour on top. The card is characterized by an impassable undergrowth and a very complex relief. If you are tired of summer or autumn cards, or exhausted from the heat of the savannah, then the taiga is what you need. During the execution of quests, you can get a unique gun. In addition to the new DLC reserve, it contains a set of fur clothes for an even more authentic hunt.
Inhabitant living creatures: Siberian Kabarga, Lynx, Boar, Northern Deer, Brown Bear, Elk. There are a lot of moose here, but the most interesting is the hunt for lynx, since the lynx is a cat, it is very careful, as a result of its prey is difficult.

Vurhonga Savanna
The reserve is located in the northern part of Africa. Available through the purchase of DLC. A map, which was long asked for classical hunting players, expecting to see rhinos, giraffes, zebras and lions on it. Differs in a flat landscape, small forest. There are swamps and a rather high mountain in the reserve that you do not expect to see in the savannah. I can recommend to beginners, since hunting it is simple and fun. In addition, a set of clothes corresponding to the “weather” is included.
Inhabitant living creatures: shrubby hare, jackal, springbok, small kudu, wart, blue Gnu, Orix, lion, African buffalo. A record number of animals – nine (almost as much as at the start of the game in two reserves) and all unique, but where are the rhinos and giraffes, which were so much asked by Thehunter fans so much? The answer is simple – hunting for them is prohibited in real life, and Thehunter tries to adhere to ethics in matters of animal extraction. So, for example, in the classics, a white bear hunt is not encouraged, despite the fact that he is and the hunter’s glasses when he was mining you will not receive. Here we went in a simpler way to animals in which it is forbidden to hunt simply not “brought”.

Parque Fernando
The reserve is located in Patagonia (South America). Available through the purchase of DLC. The third card is not very large, but very picturesque. It contains both fields and forests and lakes and hills. Of the features, one can distinguish the shooting range, different from what is in Hirschfelden, as well as a mini game: get into a target from a circle of stones, which is not so easy to find, since they are not “illuminated” and scattered throughout the reserve. So, in this addition, there is a set of “fashionable” clothes.
Inhabitant living creatures: Chirik, Axis, Garna, Black Hut deer, Puma, noble deer, Asian buffalo. Black -tailed deer – how many individuals were killed in the classics … EEH. Although there are not many species of animals, almost all of them are unique. On this map, for the first time, animal hunting was presented, namely, the puma, whose roar is far over the purple fields of Patagonia.

Yukon Valley
The reserve is located in Alaska (North America). Available through the purchase of DLC. The latter at the time of the review of the review, an addition to the reserve, but not the last according to the promises of the developers (at one of the streams they said that they were not averse to making a hunting lot in Australia). Yukon Valley – a most diverse reserve in which there are mountains and forests (deciduous, coniferous and even burnt), and lakes, and rivers. Green grass and the foliage of trees can be covered with snow right during the hunt and then put – this feature was first implemented on this map and is no longer found anywhere else. Also on the map there is a railway along which a train walks on a schedule, and an airplane flies in the sky.
Inhabitant living creatures: a stone, fox, wolf, caribu, grizzly, moose, steppe bison. The king of American animals is Grisli, but this is not the most outstanding animal on this map. Wolves that go into packs and those who want to have a bite can deliver a lot of trouble, and the bison may well “give change” if it was not possible to dump it from the first shot.

If we talk about animals in general, they are beautiful;They behave adequately: they have areas of need (feeding, drinking, sleep) and there is a schedule on which they live, they run not only in the zones of their appearance, but are scattered throughout the map (although, sometimes they get stuck in the landscape objects). But as in Thehunter Classic, animals do not interact with each other (the exclusion of the pum and herbivores on the Parque Fernando map) and this is very sad. The living creatures are just remarkable and animated, there are no complaints about.

What a bastard shot?

In a previous review, I wrote that Expansive Worlds tried to please everyone. And this game was no exception.
The game has four main types of what virtual carcasses can be killed:

Almost every weapon model is represented by two or three cosmetic versions, which adds aesthetics well.
All this variety copes with its tasks perfectly and the only thing that is worth thinking about when choosing a weapon is ethics and which trunk is better suited to your shoes.
The behavior of weapons in the game is spelled out perfectly. The slaughter depends on the caliber and the type of cartridge (yes there are also several). The recoil also depends on the caliber, and if the “air” gives you the opportunity to send the entire store to one point without any difficulty, then, for example, “three hundred” will have only one shot, and you most likely will not have time to do the second, since the animal will hide behind the horizon. Although the correct selection of caliber and knowledge where to shoot (in most cases) will save you from running around.
From the “body kit” on the weapon there are only a few sights with different multiplicity, and the tritial backlight for open sights.
The weapon sounds differently and this affects the gameplay. Luke, crossbow and air rifle almost do not make a sound when firing, so you will have the opportunity to shoot the entire herd, and a large -caliber loud weapon will frighten off the whole peacefully grazing prey within a radius of three hundred meters. The trunks sound pleasant, but this does not cause some Wow effect.
A big disadvantage can be considered that almost all the standing weapons in the game can only be bought through the purchase of DLC, and to make it beautiful and varied to pay a certain amount of bloody earned.

For a more comfortable hunt, there are also strokes that can be put in an open area and hide in them, the towers that are scattered around the hunting and which can be transferred with you, a labase that will organize the hunting point on the tree. There are backpacks of different capacities that will make it possible to endure greater weight, but make you more noticeable. The tent will allow you to comfortably organize a halt where you can relax and change the weapon and replenish the ammunition, as well as cause an ATV. Yes, the game has a transport that allows you to comfortably get to remote and not open corners of the map, drive animals or just arrange races with friends. Using transport, you can quickly perform some tasks. The ATV is represented by just one model, but in three colors (there is an opinion that red is faster).

Yes, this is not a national hunt

– For our national hunting, the main thing is not a beast, but a process. You walk, look. You can do nothing, just go.

For each reserve, there is a unique branch of missions, which will allow you to get acquainted with the main attractions of the map, animals and ways to hunt them. In addition to the main missions, there are side effects that will make you get game in a special way (distance, weight, integrity of the trophy, time and place of production). For the missions, as well as for the correct murders, the game is pushing us with experience and money. We can spend money on the purchase of equipment, arsenal, cartridges and the opening of stationary shelters. Experience increases the level of the hunter (maximum level 60). Level gives us points of skills or skills that we can spend on pumping a character. Pumping will make it possible for us to better possess different types of weapons, run faster, get tired less, move quieter, be less noticeable, more precisely aiming, it is better to use semolina and much more that can facilitate the prey of the treasured trophy. After the extraction of particularly valuable trophies from them, you can make a scarecrow, and then put it in your own mansion, in which you can invite your friends and boast of your prey, long horns and not only ..
There is also a club of hunters in the game, though so far in the status of beta, but now you can complete daily, weekly tasks and receive money for it.
